Albin Johnson mais conhecido por TK 210,fundou nos anos 90 a famosa 501 st Legion,um grupo de costuming e de organização de eventos para fins de caridade,que conta actualmente com milhares de membros espalhados por todos os cantos do mundo.

SWCP: fundaste em 1998 a 501 st Legion.Vendo agora a expansão internacional que este grupo alcançou,esperavas sinceramente que viria a ter tão estrondoso êxito?

A.J: não fazia ideia que o clube teria tanto sucesso.Esperava um bom grupo sólido de Stormtroopers,mas não me atreveria a ter a esperança de reunir tantas pessoas com laços estreitos com a LucasFilm.É realmente um milagre!

SWCP: criaste um site( http://www.katie.albinjohnson.com/ )que visa sobretudo homenagear a tua filha Katie que faleceu em 2005.É também uma forma de eternizar a sua memória,dando também o exemplo a outras situações idênticas com outras crianças?

A.J: o website é realmente só para me lembrar dela como minha filha,nada mais.Mas Katie foi acarinhada por tantos fãs em todo o mundo que eu não posso negar-lhes a sua memória e o amor que sinto por ela.O website http://www.r2kt.com/ é mais apropriado para servir como um exemplo às crianças que estão necessitadas,porque R2-KT representa todas elas.Katie é a querida da 501 st Legion e todos nós sentimos a sua falta.Estou muito feliz pelo apoio que os fãs têm demonstrado.Espero que lhes traga grande inspiração.

SWCP: o R2 Builders Group,fabricou um dróid cor de rosa (R2-KT) em 2005 para a pequena Katie.Podes dizer-nos como surgiu essa ideia?

A.J: quando a Katie estava doente,ela passou muito tempo acamada.A sua irmã mais velha,Allie,sugeriu um dróid R2-D2 para vigiá-la na cama,tal como o R2-D2 que vigiou a Padmé enquanto ela dormia(episº II).Então ela sugeriu que o dróid fôsse cor de rosa e que se chamasse "KT para Katie".A Katie adorou a ideia e pediu-me para ajudar na construcção do robot;Andy Schwartz compreendeu que Katie não deveria ficar entre nós durante muito mais tempo,e então repintou o R2-D2 para cor de rosa e emprestou-nos o robot para a Katie desfrutá-lo.Jerry Greene construíu um novo robot-rosa e deu-nos no ano seguinte,já depois da Katie ter falecido.Nós agora usamos o R2-KT para servir como uma esperança!

SWCP: tens idia de quantos membros da 501 st Legion existem em todo o mundo?

A.J: existem actualmente mais de 4.500 membros em todo o mundo,em mais de 43 países.Temos membros em todos os continenetes,havendo inclusivé um posto avançado na Antártida durante um curto período de tempo.

SWCP: tens cinco filhas maravilhosas que ainda são muito jovens,mas já lhes incutistes "o bichinho"por Star Wars?elas já tentam usar trajes de Stormtroopers?

A.J: sim,todas elas amam Star Wars.Leêm os livros pop-up e brincam com os brinquedos,assim como assistem à série animada "Clone Wars".Todas elas são agora membros da academia galáctica(http://www.galactic-academy.com/ )onde as crianças podem usar trajes de Star Wars e ser membros do seu próprio clube!todos são livres de aderir-é muito divertido.As garotas adoram Star Wars e ainda continuam a usar os trajes da saga.

SWCP: na 501 st Legion,porque é que usas o mome TK 210?no que te inspiraste para usar esse cognome?

A.J: eu queria que o sistema do número TK fizésse sentido,então eu usei a data do meu aniversário(10 de Fevereiro).Algumas pessoas usam esse sistema,outras usam novos,não é importante como escolhes o teu número,mas quando se tem um número próprio,fica teu para toda a vida!eu tenho visto pessoas que tatuam o seu número no seu próprio corpo!

SWCP: quais são os principais fundamentos e objectivos da 501 st Legion?

A.J: a missão da 501 é para se divertir,ser profissional,fazer um bom trabalho para a comunidade e espalhar o prazer por Star Wars!

Albin Johnson aka TK 210,founded in the 90´s,the famous 501 st Legion,a group of costuming and organizing events for charitable purposes,that now has thousands of members spread throught the world.

SWCP: you founded in 1998 the 501 St Legion.Now seeing the international expansion that this group has achieved,do you sincerely hoped that this group would have such a resounding success?

A.J: I had no idea the club would be this successful. I had hoped for a good solid group of stormtroopers but I did not dare to hope for so many with such close ties to Lucasfilm! It is truly a miracle!

SWCP: you have created a website(http://www.katie.albinjohnson.com/ ) wich is intendend to honor your daughter Katie,who died in 2005.Is also a way to perpetuate his memory,also giving an example for other similar situationswith other children?

A.J: The website is really only to remember her as my daughter, nothing more. But Katie has been embraced by so many fans the world over that I cannot deny them her memory and the love they feel for her. The website http://www.r2kt.com/ is more appropriate for serving as an example of children who are in need,because R2-KT represents them all. Katie is the darling of the 501st Legion and we all miss her - I am very glad for the support the fans have shown us. I hope it brings them great inspiration.

SWCP: the R2 Builders Group fabricated a pink droid(R2-KT) in 2005 to honor Katie.Can you tell us how did this idea ?

A.J: When Katie was sick, she spent a lot of time in bed. Her older sister, Allie, suggested an R2-D2 droid to watch over her in bed, like R2-D2 watched Padme sleeping in Episode II. Then she suggested the droid be pink and called "KT" for "Katie". Katie loved the idea so much I asked the Droid Builders for help in building the droid. Andy Schwartz understood Katie would not be here with us much longer, so he repainted his R2-D2 in pink and loaned it to us for Katie to enjoy. Jerry Greene built a new pink droid and gave it to us the next year, after Katie had passed. We now let R2-KT serve as a reminder of Katie and as a symbol of hope!

SWCP: have you an idea of how many members of 501 st Legion exist througout the world?

A.J: There are now over 4500 members in the world, living in over 43 countries. We have had members on every continent, for there was an outpost on Antarctica for a short time.

SWCP: you have five wonderfull daughters that although they are still very young,did you already stirred up "the fever of Star Wars"? they eventry to wear a Stormtrooper costumes?

A.J: Yes, they all love Star Wars - they read the pop-up books and play with the toys and watch the Clone Wars cartoon. All of them are now members of the Galactic Academy (www.galactic-academy.com ) where kids can wear Star Wars costumes and be members of their own club! Everyone is free to join - it is a lot of fun. The girls love Star Wars and continue to wear Star Wars costumes today!

SWCP: why do you use the name TK210 on 501 st legion?what that inspired you to use that name?

A.J: I wanted the TK number system to make sense, so I used my birthday: February (month #2) 10th. Some people use that system, some make up new ones. It's not important how you get your number, but once you have your number you own it and it is yours for life! I have seen people tattoo their numbers on their bodies!

SWCP: what are the main reasons and objectives of the 501 st legion?

A.J: The mission of the 501st is to have fun, be professional, do good work for the community, and spread the joy of Star Wars!
