O ator e músico da Costa do Marfim,Gervais Koffi,participou no episódio III de Star Wars no papel do Mestre Jedi Koffi Arana,um dos poucos Jedi que sobreviveram à famigerada `Ordem 66´.


SWCP: Conte-nos sobre a sua participação em Star Wars.

G.K: Recebi uma chamada da minha agência de casting a informar-me de que tinha sido selecionado para interpretar um Jedi em Star Wars.

SWCP: Curiosamente, o nome do seu personagem (Koffi) tem o seu apelido real. Foi coincidência, ou propositado? Por quem?

G.K: O meu nome é Gervais Koffi.E acredito que foi intencional. Sendo o George Lucas o produtor, talvez tenha sido ele a tomar essa decisão.

SWCP: É sobretudo um músico. Fale-nos da sua banda `African Diaspora ´.

G.K: Desde que me mudei para a Austrália, decidi criar uma banda para promover os ritmos e as culturas da Diáspora Africana. Ela é o meu modo de contribuir para o desenvolvimento do multiculturalismo na Austrália.

SWCP: Porque decidiu em 1998 divulgar a sua música e filosofia ao povo australiano?

G.K: Embora a Austrália seja relativamente um país jovem, acredito na cultura especialmente a aborígene. Em muitos aspetos há tantas semelhanças entre as suas tradições e um pouco do país de onde venho: A Costa do Marfim. Também acredito que este país tem potencial para ser muito forte culturalmente por causa do fato que a maior parte de pessoas daqui vem de várias partes do mundo.
SWCP: Voltando a Star Wars, sabia que na literatura da saga, o seu personagem foi morto pelo Darth Vader?


G.K: Descobri como toda a gente. Pela Internet.

SWCP: Que mensagem quer enviar aos fãs de Star Wars?

The actor and musician from the Ivory Coast,Gervais Koffi,participated in the episode III of Star Wars in the role of Jedi Master Koffi Arana, one of the few Jedi to survive `Order 66´.

SWCP: Tell us about your participation in Star Wars.

G.K: I got a call from my casting agency telling me that I was selected to be a jedi on starwars.

SWCP: Curiously, the name of your character (Koffi) is your real surname. Was it only a coincidence or intentionally? From whom?

G.K: My name is Gervais Koffi.I believe it was intentional. And George Lucas being the producer he might have made that decision.

SWCP: You are a musician. Tell us about your band ´Africa Diaspora`.

G.K: Since moving to Australia I decided to create a band to promote the rhythms and the cultures of the African Diaspora. It is my way to contribute to the development of the multiculturalism in Australia.

SWCP: Why did you decide in 1998 to spread your music and philosophy to the Australian people?

G.K: Though Australia is relatively a young country I believe in the culture especially the one of aboriginal people. In many respects there are so many similarities between their traditions and some of my country where I come from: The Ivory Cost. I also believe this country has the potential to be very strong culturally because of the fact that most people here come from various parts of world.

SWCP: Back to Star Wars: Did you know that in the Star Wars literature, your character was killed by Darth Vader?

G.K: I found out like everyone else on the net.

SWCP: What message would you like to leave for the fans of Star Wars?
